2015 New York Fashion Week

From February 11th to the 19th the New York Fashion Week had many amazing collections for all tastes. Mine tends to be on the girlier side, so my favorites of the week  are obviously going to include lots of dresses, light fabrics and pretty silhouettes.  It was really difficult to narrow down what I liked. There were defiantly lines that had pieces I liked but the collection overall did not really appeal to me. So these were some of my favorite collection form the New York Fashion Week.

Leanne Marshall

Autumn/Winter 2015

Leanne is known for creating flowing, light and feminine pieces. This time around she uses mixes of  burgundy, beiges, midnight blue, emerald, blues and whites. The classy and modern mix make her collections timeless The line was heavily influenced by the 1975 movie Francois Truffaut’s The Story Of Adele H. The movie follows a women love who travel around the world following a man who does not feel the same way. The line is dived into four parts that follows the movies storyline.

Erin Fetherston

I feel like spring is finally here with with this line that reminds me of Easter, without the tackiness. This feminine, whimsical, and flirty collection is just what we are used to from Fetherstosn, her collections always make me want to be old school house wife.

Ricardo Seco

Spring

This collection was a mix of athletic and edgy; with it’s jerseys, Letterman jackets, graphic prints, and leather. A collection that instantly looks cool.  The collection was inspired by the Wixárika tribe of Mexico; he included the warm colors and beading of the tribe into his classy and sophisticated clothing. The line is entitled “Dreams” and it is supposed to be an effortless enough for urban men and woman.

Badgley Mischka

Spring

Where elegance and glamor come together.  The collection varies from complex details to smooth silks in an effortless manner. A line that can take a women from work to a date night. The pastel hues give it a soft and sexy vibe.

FTL Moda

Gosh this collection had everything; trendy, edgy , feminine, artistic. The designs were the creation of  Hendrik Vermeulen, Rozalia Bot, and Antonio Urzi . With an expert in cloth, an embroidery genius, and a futuristic wanderer you are bound to have a collection beyond this world. The catwalk also saw models like never before seen. Indeed FTL Moda is breaking all the set standards.

Michael Costello

Spring

The collection was a mix of fabrics and silhouettes, which are popular for emphasizing a woman’s hour glass figure. These are the type of dresses you see on the red carpet, with the many variations within collections one is bound to find one piece to fall in love with.

Reem Acra

So this collection had that regal, glamorous and flawless construction  associated with Acra. With its rich fabrics and vivid colors. Overall I can say that it’s not the best from Acra, but it was the debut of skin before never done by her before. This collection seemed different from Acra caused it to stand out.
