I just want to talk about the change I’ve noticed over the past few years. In the small city I live in, if it’s even considered a city, fashion is not a main priority. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live in the fast paced and fashion forward cities of New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. About three years ago people would dress in sweatpants, sweaters, (looking like they just got out of bed) and Uggs on a daily basis. I don’t know if it’s because the people around me are getting older and finally got the interest in looking like they tried or if that was just the style at that time, but when I go to class now I find myself admiring what other people where a lot more. I see people taking risks wearing things that might seem absurd and shying away from the habit of trying to look like everyone else. Now I have the issue of seeing people that look great everyday and it would be weird to compliment them everyday. So now I feel that I have to wait for a day when I really really like what they’re wearing in order to compliment them. Anyway, I hope this isn’t just a phase and that people continue exploring their style.
